Obtaining an ACIRE card (for restricted traffic areas) - Residents

Documentation to be submitted

Documentation required at the start of the procedure:

  • ACIRE /ORA application form;
  • A photocopy of the applicant's national identity card;
  • Photocopy of the vehicle registration document in the applicant's name.

Documentation required in subsequent phases of the procedure:

  • RENEWAL: if no changes have taken place, the expired authorization card should be returned. Once it has been proven that the applicant is still registered as a resident of the zone, the new permit will be issued.
  • CHANGE OF VEHICLE: In this case, the card relating to the old vehicle should be returned and submitted along with a photocopy of the registration document for the new vehicle. Once it has been proven that the applicant is still registered as a resident of the zone, a new permit will be issued.
  • CANCELLATION: the interested party should return their permit.

There are no associated fees or taxes.

The permit card (authorization) is valid for a period of 5 years.

Where can I request authorization? At the Traffic Department of the Local Police Station (Avda. Sant Ferran on the corner of C/Son Dameto, 2nd floor). If all documentation is submitted and all requirements are fulfilled, the permit card will be processed in the act. It is also possible to submit documentation to any Integrated Customer Services Unit (Unidades Integradas de Atención al Público, UIAP): however, the applicant will still have to collect the permit at the aforementioned address.

Can I park in an ACIRE zone if I have an ACIRE zone resident's card? Yes, but you should take into account that if you park in an ORA zone, you should display an ORA ticket on the vehicle or request a yearly ORA card for residents (both options are subject to a charge) as well as complying with other ORA restrictions.
