Description Obtaining a licence for category 4 firearms (compressed air)
Who can make this request? Individuals
Documentation to be submitted

Documentation required at the start of the procedure:

  • General application form;
  • Authenticated photocopy of the applicant's national identity card;
  • Authenticated photocopy of documents proving the acquisition of the arm (invoice, sales agreement, donation, etc.);
  • Photocopy of the national identity card of the seller or previous owner in the case of sale, donation, etc;
  • Fee stipulated in the Tax Ordinance for the current year (municipal stamp duty).

Documentation required in subsequent phases of the procedure:

  • RENOVATION: for temporary licences, if no changes have occurred, the expired permit should be submitted and a new licence application made.
  • CANCELLATION: the interested party should return their permit and the arm.

Procedure duration This procedure has a duration of 3 months
Price and payment method

Concept 310-00 tariff 16. This can be processed at any Integrated Customer Services Unit (Unidades Integradas de Atención al Público, UIAP) along with the application form.

If all the arms are of the same category and belong to the same owner (up to a maximum of 6 arms on any one application form) then only one stamp duty must be paid.

Where can I apply for this licence? You can apply at any general registry. Integrated Customer Services Unit (Unidades Integradas de Atención al Público, UIAP)

How many arms can I obtain a licence for, and how long will the licence last? For category 4.1 arms (automatic repeating arms), a licence can be granted for up to 6 arms for a period of 5 years. For category 4.2 (single-action) an unlimited number of arms can be licensed for an indefinite period.

Where can I collect the licence? You can collect it at the General Affairs Department.
